Premature celebrations aside, I’ve got a saaaaweeeeeeet post in store for y’all today!
Baked Apples A La Mode…
Why a la mode?
Simply put, ice cream makes everything taste better. It takes a standard, yummy dessert and makes it effing awesome!
We all scream, for ice cream!
Wouldn’t you agree?
I would think heck-to-the-yes!….unless of course you avoid dairy…but guess what? I’ll tell you about a yummy (dairy-free) alternative you can use to mimic the irresistible cold, sweet and creamy treat.
First, you need to Bake the Apples …
Which is SUPER simple! Here’s what you need:
1 medium apple, cored & sliced (I like Fuji,Granny Smith or Honey Crisp)
1 T melted butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Place slices of apple onto foil-lined jelly roll pan. Drizzle with melted butter. Use pastry brush to evenly coat butter onto slices (optional). Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake @ 375 for 25 minutes.
Remove from the oven, and serve immediately! Layer 1/2 the apple slices on bottom of a bowl, then scoop 1/2 cup of *vanilla ice cream on top, then top the ice cream with remaining apple slices.
OOOooOoooOOoh, Ladies! This is the gangsta sauce!
*Dairy-free alternative: Cashewtopia Vanilla Bean gelato
This recipe is the perfect healthy alternative to apple pie, or traditional baked apples or apple crumbles!
That’s all the juice I have for today, Pumpkins! I’ve got major packing and studying ahead of me…
Wishing you all GORGEOUS, HEALTHY & DELICIOUS days FILLED with apples and ice cream!
