Stand Up for a better body!

Wuddup Homies?

…I’ll tell you what’s up…

Daily Dubie nails all up in your grill!

My move to tone things down was strategic. I’ll be waiting an extra week (3 weeks) in between appointments this time around (because I want fresh nails for a very special wedding happening over the 4th of July) and the neutral/nude shades don’t show the cuticle growth as much. Plain and simple: IT’S CHICER…and <cough cough> so “IN” according to Harper’s Bazaar (May 2013).

Naked nails are the bomb. Need I say more?

Mmm kay. Back to the business! I’m going to let you in on a little secret: I don’t “do cardio.” <GASP!>

…Well, at least not the treadmill, spinning, hamster wheel, batshit crazy kind of cardio. <Gasp!> I know, I know…but I have my reasons. Instead, what I have found works best for me is walking – LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of walking (at least 1-2 hours everyday) and…LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of, get this…

Standing (especially when paired with a tri-weekly Pilates practice = which is code for always being mindful of my posture) does the body some serious good, friends…

  • When standing, you’re more apt to partake in other physical activities, which can double and triple your “resting” calorie burn.
  • Sitting is THE WORST thing you can do for your body. In fact, according to the Mayo Clinic sitting for more than 4 hours at a time without getting off your bum, increases your risk for heart disease by 125%! Think that sounds like a bad time? Chronic sitters have a 50% increased risk for overall death! If that’s not enough to wake your ass up, I don’t know what is. Don’t be an idiot. Make it a priority to get UP and get MOVING! Movement strengthens and heals the body! Even if it is just to stand. GET OFF YOUR TUSH.

  • Stand instead of sitting at your desk. For a cool grand, you can have this awesome setup…

PSYCHE! That is fucking ridiculous. You absolutely should NOT have spend a grand to get healthier. Something like this might be more achievable…

Or THIS. Take your pick. Then…

Try it. Like it & Stick with it.

  • Stand on the Subway! I NEVER sit…EVER, unless I am in physical pain or discomfort, which is almost never <sign of the cross>. It’s also an excellent place to challenge your core strength, stability and balance!
  • Stand, or even better, walk when talking on the phone. It’s the perfect opportunity to get active without watching the clock.

Alright Eyeballs. That’s it. I’m done. Outta here. I need some steak.

heartSending lots of Love and Besos your way!heart
