Taking a “Holiday” from Holiday-ing

August 31, 2011

Good Morning! Good Morning!

It's Wednesday, and we have a Long, HOLIDAY weekend ahead of us! Y'all should be jammed! yes ...(I don't think I need to make mention of the fact that I sure am!) winkwink

As much as I would like to milk this whole "holiday" thing as an excuse to be lax in the fitness department, my "holi-days" are OVER, Dolls! I'm done. Finished. That chapter, albeit fabulous, has come to a CLOSE. I'm taking a long holiday, away from holiday-ing! Don't get me wrong, I still am very much looking forward to spending quality time with my Family, I just won't be caving into any "let's be lazy" nonsense. Think you can convice me otheriwse?! ... Try Me! I'm a tough cookie, and when I mean business, I DO MY BUSINESS! I act!

With that said, it has been quite nice to get back into the jimnasio, as well as resume my yoga & pilates practice. Oy vey, did I need it! Prior to my always-challenging, and equally enjoyable pilates session with Howard, I marched this bod to the gym, and racked up 20, quick, yet effective, minutes of cardiovascular activity. It was by no means a torcher, but sweat beads did break out-It was a mild-moderate challenge for me.

Here's what it looked like:

10 Minutes: Elliptical

Time                  Resistence Level

0-2                                 6

2-4                                 8

4-6                                10

6-8                                12

8-9                                10

9-10                               8

10 Minutes: Treadmill

Time                            Incline                       Speed

0-2                                  0.0                            6.8

2-4                                  0.0                            7.0

4-6                                  0.0                            7.2

6-8                                  0.0                            7.4

8-9                                  0.0                            7.6

9-10                                0.0                            8.0

10-12                              0.0                            4.0 or lower / Cool Down

And Just. Like. That! You're finished, flushed, and ready for your real workout! Before I do yoga, pilates, or any strength training really, I like to add a quick 20 minute cardio workout beforehand. Some days I find that my shorter workouts are much more difficult and effective, than on the days I do 30-40 minutes of cardio. Time does not equal a better workout, my friends.

...

Following my pilates session, I grabbed some fresh juices for myself & HB. I've been juicing in the morning since I've returned, and I feel clean, and energized because of it. Today I had

Cucmber + Apple + Spinach

(Don't you love how pretty and dolled up I get for y'all?!-HA! Excusé)

Yummy! ...For those who are not into juices/juicing, I recommend you watch Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead - you can stream it on Netflix. The documentary illustrates the direct correlation that health has on your happiness, success, and overall fulfillment. Watch it. Learn it. Love it. Live it. smiley

And last, but certainly not least, I wanted to share our Dinner Report from last night. On the menu:

Filet & Arugula Salad

Now THAT, my friends, is a proper ratio! That's a little less than 5 oz. of meatwith LOADS of leafy greens! MAKE ROOM FOR MORE VEGGIES in your life! yes

...Okay, okay, now I must bust my buns...I need to do some MAJE Organization on the office-front! Staples here I come!

Big Kiss,

Mrs. Daily Dubes xo
