The Flip Side to “Not Being Liked”

Good Morning Beautiful Faces.

I got broccoli vibes for you today….Press Play, baby.

Today we’re going to make lemonade out of lemons, like Beyonce…because isn’t that what life is all about?

Yes. Yes it is.

Here is The Flip Side to “Not Being Liked”

I decided to write about this, because I (finally!) don’t give a flying fuck about people who don’t like me – or, let’s be real, their idea of who I am. It has taken me 33 years to make peace with the fact that not everyone will like me, and that’s okay. Next! …

For a hyper-sensitive woman, this is a big feat. Like, HUGE.

Teaching has helped me overcome this hang-up – public speaking in front of hundreds of strangers will do that to you. <wink wink>.

“Not being liked” is in quotes because it’s almost always subjective, unless someone straight up tells you to your face “I don’t like you.”

For the record, anyone who has the balls to do that to me, RESPECT (accent on the “t”).

Usually it goes a little something like this: We get vibes from people, and their actions imply they aren’t your number one fan. Boo-fucking-hoo.

//

Reasons why this is a wonderful thing:

1). You have a distinct, unique personality. You’re not for everyone, and everyone is not for you. Remember, it goes BOTH WAYS.

2). You voice your opinions. You are not a wallflower. You’re not worried about going along with the group, and for this reason, you’re a natural leader.

3). You have something they don’t. This is usually why people (who don’t know you well) dislike you. It’s more…they dislike the perception of you, which exposes their own insecurities. Instead of addressing their own issues, they blame other, more awesome, people like you.

//

The next time you find yourself being upset over somebody “not liking you,” remind yourself of the above. Thank the universe that you do not have to deal with their bullshit. It happened for a reason and took care of itself. You weren’t meant to be friends.

Also, let’s be Zen-like and thank those people for being a reminder that you’re fucking awesome, and their unhappiness cannot and will not touch your happiness or success.

YOU have all the power, baby.
