Mrs. Daily Dubes is BACK!

Can I just say that I am so THRILLED to finally be talking to all of your gorgeousnesses. I miss you when I travel frown...Expression Engine really needs to get with the program and come out with an app that will allow me to Daily Dubie-fy in an appropriate manner, i.e. with excessive use of photos, emoticons, font sizes, bolding, italicizing, etc. - It is MY LANGUAGE after all. My SAUWCE! ... and a post without it, my friends, is just not a post at all ...Technical annoyances aside, let's stay ON TARGET, and be thankful that we're right here, right now. laugh

<Sigh>.

Can you believe that were are just one week away from Thanksgiving?!?! It's madness! Madness, I tell you! I am SUPER jazzed, because tomorrow I am taking a fancy dancy cooking class with renowned chef, Pamela Morgan. --> http://www.pamelamorgansflavors.com/ Chef Daily Dubes is going to attend with bells & whistles ready to get her cooking-on! If I can take photos - I will! I have actually never taken a cooking class before, so this is a first. I'm not sure what I'm in for, but considering Pam's reputation (we're already on a first name basis, and she doesn't know it) it should blow me away with fabulousness! Stay tuned for a debrief.

While we're on the subject of FOOD & COOKING, let's check out my amazing-hit-the-spot lunch that my 4-year old niece could make.

Deconstructed Peanut Butter & Raisin Sandwich

It's amazing how a title can really SAUWCE things up! (LOL - I have to credit my husband for my newfound obsession with the word "sauwce" - he's been a sauwce-saying animal recently, and it rubbed off. <Shrug> It happens...annnnnnnnd it really IS boatloads of fun to yell out "sauwce!" Go on. Try it! Sauwce-ing will make you smile! laugh

In all reality, we're looking at two pieces of Food For Life Cinnamon Raisin bread, toasted, and smothered in Peanut Butter. Not rocket science, here. Easy as pie.

More often than not, it's the simplest of things I get the most pleasure out of eating. No frills. No nonsense. Straight up....because...

I'm keepin' it real, dolls. Keepin' it real. 

*Bonus points for who can guess the movie* winkwink


I have to wrap things up now, my Loves, because I just spent close to 30 minutes doing a MAJOR post on the importance of Eating Seasonally & Locally, only to lose the WHOLE ENCHILADA with the accidental press of a button - Needless to say, I'm FUMING, and would like very much to punch the living daylights out of something!...But I need to take my own advice and just breathe, walk away, and bake some cookies for chrissakes. 

We have one MACK DADDY post to look forward to tomorrow! laugh The power of positive thinking.

Good Day My Beloved Readers!!!

...As promised, I'm typing to y'all from seat 14C on my flight back hoooooooooooooome...to tha NYC, ain't no other place to Beeee! wink

It can be inferred from the title as to where I flew these buns out of this morning...

Virgin America, SFO, Baby! ...that's where!

I've let it be known that, second to JFK's Jet Blue Terminal, I'm quite fond of this terminal, primarily because it's filled with all sorts of delicious, healthy food & drink options!-(Lord knows nothing can make me crabbier than being stuck in an airport terminal with slim pickings- UNacceptable, Dolls!).

My purchases, albeit kinda pricey, included the following:

  • Breakfast: Kale, parsley, lemon, & apple fresh pressed juice - 16 ounces + 1/2 cup cooked, plain oatmeal with cinnamon + pecans + raisins.
  • Beverage: Ginger Kombucha 
  • Lunch: Side of fresh guacamole, pica de gallo, soft corn tortillas, and some tortilla chips for added crunch! 
  • Snack: Big Golden Crisp Apple
  • 70 ounces of bottle water (2 bottles)

Now that, my friends is the danky! To lighten things up when indulging in chips + salsa + guacamole, which I do on a daily basis, use 2 soft corn tortillas, plus just a few tortilla chips to heighten the crunch-factor. Or, forgo the chips altogether, and use only tortillas yes

I'd say it's high time I put a sock in it about my goSHdarn-(for you, Mamacita-hehe) guacamole + corn tortillas obsession! I'm going to spice things up, Dolls...LITERALLY! It's all about the

SPICES!

  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg
  • Cloves
  • Ginger

MMMmmmMMmmmMMMmmm

I'd say the New Season calls for a New Menu + New Ingredients pronto! ...Furthermore, in keeping with this Fall Chatter, I've made sure my iphone, ipad, and computer home screens all reflect such a thing!

Che...che...check it out!

I love me some Falling Leaves! yes Doing such a thing really makes me feel as though I am IN the season, Living it! Loving it! Embracing it!

Good Afternoonie, Love Bunnies!

Surprise!!! I have Pictures + Proper Formatting + Emoticons today!!!

I am praising Jesus, Mary, & Joseph right now, as I discovered that the trusty "University @ Sea" computers can be converted to MAC desktops -- the reason there was so much conumdrum in  my last attempt, was because the computer was set to Windows, so I was unfamiliar with the functionality..which blows bytheway...windows = no bueno.

So HERE I AM. Happy as a clam laugh

I am nearing the end of this absolutely amazing vacation, and we're rounding it out in the equally amazing country of

España

Today we were in VALENCIA pronounced: "Bal-en-thia" by the local Spaniards. It should come as no surprise that the accent in Spain is right up my alley, as I am quite talented when it comes to "lisp-ing" ... They pronounce the "es" sound with a "th" over here...makes for some serious fun for us Amer-cans. wink

..Moving on..let's talk today's

Lunch Report!!!

Perhaps my most favorite of ALL lunches here in Europa...

PAELLA!!!!!!!!!!

Valencia is where this mouthwatering dish originated. The name came from the term "para ella," meaning "for her," as this was the dish men would make for their wives to give them a break from cooking. At least that's one of a few explanations for it. I fancied this one the most!

We feasted on Tres Paellas for lunch today...

The name of the restaurant we went to was La Rosa, located on the beach. Everything was FANTASTIC! I would highly recommend if you ever visit yourselves! yes

After taste-testing all of our glorious options, my favorite was a no-brainer...

Hands down, LOBSTER took home the GOLD, baby!!! The flavor was a rich, buttery garlic...OooOOOOooooOOooh lala...I could just eat it for days, Dolls! The odd thing was, after my seemingly heavy siesta of mucho comida, I felt like a *new woman* not lethargic, and sleepy. Mas paella para mi, por favor!!! We also opted to walk the 2 or so miles back to the ship, which made us all feel great afterward! All about BALANCING, yes?!

Needless to say I was not hungry for a late afternoon snack, as per usual, but I DID have myself one of these...

Looks like a bloody Rootbeer Float, right?!?!

Well, my friends, I'm here to tell you that it's NOT. It's an ice blended coffee. BLACK.  No sugar, no cream. Straight up.  I don't mess around. Oh, and that frothiness you see is what happens when you blend the coffee with the ice for a long period of time...It was complete and utter dankishness, indeed. smiley

...Aight lovies...'tis time to sign off for the eve...cocktail hour is approaching for yours truly.
